The Alumni Reunion Banquet will be held on August 12th, 2017 at 6:00PM at the Shilo Inn.  The cost of the banquet this year will be $25.00 per person. There will also be a no-host bar. Along with the banquet will be our annual silent auction.  The auction will start at 4:00PM and end at 6:00PM with check out at approximately 7:00PM.  We also hope to offer a few items in an oral auction.

Our annual banquet and auction will be held on August 12 in the year 2017. This is a week earlier than usual due to the expected influx of people to our area to see the eclipse.

NOTICE:There is Hwy. 20 construction at about MP16 to start sometime in May of this year and continue through the summer and beyond.  This will include delays and closures.  The tentative plan is for Hwy 20 to be totally closed to all traffic between 10PM and 6AM.  They will be blasting during that time.  During the other hours there could be up to 20 minute delays. These closures are still under discussion so you will need to check before you travel.  We will post updated information on our website newporthighalumni.com or you can check odot service.govdelivery.com. You can also go to Tripcheck.com right before your trip.

The Shilo Inn is offering special rates to those alumni who are attending the banquet this year.  If you wish to stay there be sure to say you are attending the Newport Alumni Association banquet to get these rates.  Standard king is $174.00 per night and deluxe 2 queen is $184.00 per night.

The purpose of the Newport Alumni Association is to offer scholarships to Newport High School seniors.  Our main money making project at this time is the auction held along with our annual banquet.  Another source of income is donations.  If you would like to donate money to our scholarship fund please feel free to send a check to Newport Alumni Association, PO Box 524, Newport, OR 97365.  You may also donate money at the banquet.

An additional source of income for the scholarship fund is through the Fred Meyer community rewards program.  Through your individual rewards card you can donate money to the Newport Alumni Association. You will still continue to receive all of the rewards you receive now but in addition the Alumni Association will receive a percentage based on how much you spend at Fred Meyer using your rewards card.  This is a good way to donate to the association without it costing you any money.  To sign up for this program you can either go online at www.fredmeyer.com/communityrewards or call 1-866-518-2686.  You will need your rewards card number and our Non-Profit Organization (NPO) number which is 82303.

The Newport Alumni Association is looking for people who would like to become active members on the board. We also need volunteers at special times when a few more hands are needed. You do not have to become a Board Member to be a helper.  At Banquet time we can ALWAYS use more hands and bodies.  We meet on the second Sunday of every month, except September, at 4PM at the American Legion Hall at 424 West Olive in Newport.  All Newport Alumni are welcome to attend our meetings.
